I meant the manipulative sort of art, something that the majority deem sinister and selfish - not art in general. Sometimes I get too carried away that my conscience has to remind me of its existence, and that is a rather unpleasant feeling. It is only personally destructive because it makes me feel miserable. But that - I have to say - happens only very occasionally. 

Too much sarcasm has a similar effect. But I guess this destructive side-effect is what helps me find my borderline.

I am definitely not the best person to ask but if you want to know my opinion, I think that any sort of governmental change would be good for France now, at the time of crisis, and especially as Sarkozy was becoming increasingly unpopular. However, Hollande will now have to watch his every step because if it doesn’t help the situation, he will be harshly judged as politics are always extremely dependent the country’s economy. 

I think introducing a 75% tax on ‘superrich’ is not going to turn out well in the long run. A very radical step to take at such an early stage of his presidency. 

His socialist ideologies go against those of the other European governments, like Germany. And the relationship with Angela Merkel doesn’t look very promising. If he thinks he will manage to save the country from the ongoing crisis all on his own, laying it all on the shoulders of the rich… Well, we shall see how that goes. 

‘All art is quite useless’

However mean and cruel the art of manipulation may be, it is still a form of art. And knowing my artistic nature, at times I cannot and do not find it necessary to resist the temptation to use it, which always turns out either very satisfying or destructive on a personal level.

The awareness of the potential of this form of art and of the exact effect it has on others is what gives you control over it.
